The Enduro is the first episode of the fourth season of Outer Banks. It is the thirty-first episode of the series overall.

Synopsis[]

Flush with success, the Pogues have big plans to invest in their future. But when their fortunes take a turn, will a bold gamble pay off?

Plot[]

John B. summarizes the chaotic events that occurred after finding El Dorado, being stranded in South America, with a sack full of gold. In a flashback to 18 months prior, the Pogues returned home with 20 pounds of gold, netting them $1.2 million, which they put into a joint account. Instead of splitting the money, they decide to buy JJ's property, turning it into a communal home and business.

The first problem arises when JJ gets emotional at the property auction, causing them to overpay for the land. Although they successfully start a bait-and-tackle shop and charter business, they still face a looming $13,000 tax bill. JJ then makes a reckless decision, betting their last gold nugget on himself in a dirtbike race called The Enduro. He loses, leaving them without the means to pay the bill.

Just as things look bleak, they receive attention for their El Dorado discovery and are hailed as heroes. This leads to an invitation to Wes Genrette’s old estate to discuss Blackbeard.
