The Bells is the second episode of the third season of Outer Banks. It is the twenty-second episode of the series overall.

Synopsis[]

As her friends mount a rescue attempt, Kiara agrees to an uneasy truce with Rafe. A familiar sound grabs John B's attention.

Plot[]

The Pogues are desperate to find Kiara. JJ stole Jimmy’s phone, which they end up using to make contact with Carlos to try and meet up. Jimmy, however, is dead, so when the Pogues reach out they are speaking to Carlos instead of Jimmy. Carlos knows it’s a trap and uses this to his advantage. His men use Jimmy’s phone to track the Pogues but they are able to run away.

Kiara tries to make Carlos let her leave Vaux Hall by convincing him she can find the journal. He doesn’t trust her though so he doesn’t let her go. Kiara and Rafe have to team up together to break out when Carlos’ men are distracted. They make it to Rafe’s boat and he offers her a ride back to the Outer Banks. She wants to go back to the Pogues though and he won’t take her so she ends up stealing his boat. She sends them a text and signs it P4L so they know it’s her. They finally reunite.

Big John tries to get John B’s attention by ringing bells to the same melody as the one he used to call him as a child. John B tells the Pogues about this and he is intent on exploring the bells to see what’s going on. He goes to the building where Big John and Limbrey are.

The Pogues wait back for John B but Carlos tracks them down. His men fire at the boat, forcing the Pogues to flee. John B is left on the island alone.
