Season 3[]

Sofia is first introduced during Rafe Cameron's party in "Happy Anniversary" but could possibly be the alibi that Rafe mentions in "The Diary" to Barry. They are very flirty towards each other and Rafe offers to show her around Tannyhill. When we see her again the next day in "Tapping the Rudder" it's implied her and Rafe sleep together when she's shown waking up in bed with his shirt on. The shirt is first seen worn by Rafe in "The Heist" in Season 2 and then seen again in "Heists" in Season 3.

She unknowingly helps Rafe decide if he should kill Ward Cameron or not, and ultimately ends up saving his life. We also learn that she was unable to continue her studies after High School which is why she eventually became a bartender in later years.

Sofia's last appearance is seen in "Secret of the Gnomon" post the 18 months time jump. She is seen working the event when The Pogues are recognized for finding El Dorado.

Season 4[]

Sofia and Rafe are out in the open water. She stands with him while he scoops his fathers ashes into the ocean and eventually brings him into a hug to comfort him. We later see her at the enduro cheering on Rafe and she attends to him when he purposely crashes into JJ. At Topper's enduro win celebration party Rafe overhears someone talk about his father and he becomes agitated. Sofia tries to calm him down and seems put off when he brings up the cut but stills tries to comfort him. Sofia and Rafe end up going somewhere else instead. Seeing him converse with Hollis Robinson she makes her way over to find out what they're discussing. When Rafe introduces her he refers to her as his "friend" which makes Sofia irritated, but she remains her composure. When Hollis leaves she brings it up and Rafe teases her by saying she's jealous to which she simply laughs at.

Sofia tans at Rafe's current home while listening to him discuss the deal with Hollis and says that no one at the country club has ever heard about it. Sofia advises against it and he agrees. Later, Sofia goes home to the cut where she greets her family. Her father discusses with her that Hollis wants her to push Rafe into accepting the business deal. Sofia becomes upset with Dario and says that its a "dishonest" thing to do and won't go behind Rafe's back. He agrees and says that she's a good person. Then, she goes to the yacht club to hang out with Rafe but stops in her tracks before entering the room when she overhears Ruthie and Rafe's conversation. He mentions that Sofia is not his girlfriend and that he wouldn't move in with her because she's a Pogue and he has "standards". A heartbroken Sofia makes her way back to her car fighting tears and eventually becomes angry. It's in this instance where she decides she will meet with Hollis to discuss details about the deal. Hollis offers her 25k to get Rafe to sign and gifts her money in advanced to persuade her. Sofia is aware that it's wrong and that there's something sketchy about it but still goes through with it due to her anger.

As Sofia and Rafe prepare to go to the beach she begins to convince him of taking the deal. She makes up lies about things she heard at the club to get him thinking. When Sofia and Rafe are sat in the sand Sarah walks by and she suggests that the eldest Cameron speaks with his sister but he denies. Later, when Ruthie messes with the Pogues Sofia is immensely upset with Rafe and his friends, to which he almost seems confused about. When nightfall comes around Rafe begins to think about Sarah and remembers what Ward said about keeping the family together. He sits next to Sofia who is asleep on the couch and stares at her conflicted. During the day, Rafe takes Sofia to Goat Island and apologizes to her about the beach incident from the previous day. He goes on to say that he wants to be a better man like his father and make amends with his sister and that he wants Sofia to be by his side. He explains that when the deal with Hollis pans out he wants to keep a piece of land and build a home with Sofia. Now feeling horrible about what she's done she tries to convince Rafe of changing his mind, to which he's completely caught off guard about and goes on to confess that he already signed and accepted the development deal. Sofia simply nods anxiously.

Rafe[]

Rafe and Sofia's relationship starts out as occasional hookups, but she eventually becomes interested romantically. Rafe also appears to have the same feelings but refuses to admit it face on and open up. When speaking to his Kook friends he refers to her as a Pogue that he wouldn't want to move in with because he has "standards" which she hears, but later tells Sofia that he wants her to be by his side and build a home with her. This puts a strain on their relationship that only she is aware of.

"Jonas Pate says, adding that the writers will be looking to explore more of Rafe’s romantic relationship with Sofia (Fiona Palomo) in order to humanize and villainize him in subsequent seasons." [3]

"Jonas Pate: We didn’t want to make him a 2-D bad guy, so we really tried to help him grapple with some of the things he had done and we even tried to soften him a bit with this character of Sofia (Fiona Palomo), who will play more of a role with him moving forward." [4]

"What would OBX be without the Pogues coming back for their next adventure? Returning series regulars are Stokes as John B, Cline as Sarah, Bailey as Kiara, Daviss as Pope, Pankow as JJ, Grant as Cleo, North as Topper, and Starkey as Rafe. In addition, Fiona Palomo will return as Sofia and has been upped to series regular." [1]
