Rudy Pankow

Rudy Pankow (born August 12, 1997) is an American actor. He is best known for his role as JJ Maybank in Netflix's teen drama series Outer Banks (2020-present). Pankow left the cast in 2024, after the death of his character JJ.

Biography[]

In 2020, Pankow began playing JJ Maybank on Netflix's mystery teen drama television series Outer Banks. The series is set in a community in the Outer Banks of North Carolina and follows the conflict between two groups of teenagers in search of a lost treasure. In 2024, he starred as Romeo in the American Repertory Theatre’s Romeo and Juliet.

Since Outer Banks, Pankow has starred in Accidental Texan, The Crusades (both 2023), 5lbs of Pressure (2024), and has an upcoming role in Reminders of Him (2026).

Since 2020, Pankow has been in a relationship with Elaine Siemek, who worked as a personal assistant and photographer on Outer Banks.
