Poguelandia is the first episode of the third season of Outer Banks. It is the twenty-first episode of the series overall.
Synopsis[]
An unexpected rescuer takes the Pogues from a remote island to Barbados, where they encounter a powerful treasure hunter with is own agenda.
Plot[]
John B, Sarah, JJ, Kiara, Pope, and Cleo are still on a deserted island, which they’ve renamed Poguelandia. They’re enjoying themselves but also eager to get off of the island. They see a plane and desperately try to get the pilot’s attention to get rescued. They manage to flag the plane down. The pilot introduces himself as Jimmy Portis. He offers them a ride off the island,
Back in Guadaloupe, the Camerons are living there off of the gold they took. Ward is in a coma. Rafe is looking for the Cross of Santo Domingo.
In Poguelandia, Sarah worries that this pilot might not be who he says he is. She thinks her father might have sent him. The group, however, agree that he is their only chance of getting off the island so they just go along with what he says. They get on the plane. JJ asks Jimmy why he was flying in this area and he tells them it’s to fish for Wahoo. The group realize Wahoo aren’t in season and so he must be lying. They see a photo of the boat they used before in Jimmy’s bag and this confirms their fears. They fight with Jimmy and the plane crashes in the water. John B, Sarah, JJ, Pope, and Cleo swim away. Kiara tries to save Jimmy but she gets taken away.
Rafe found the Cross of Santo Domingo. He sets up a meeting with Michel Arnaud who has a buyer interested in the cross.
Kiara is convinced Sarah’s dad is behind her kidnapping. She gets taken to Vaux Hall and realizes her kidnapper is someone else. It’s the same man who was trying to buy the Cross from Rafe. Rafe is there himself to organize the sale. The man, Carlos, tells them he is looking for the gold at El Dorado. He asks them to help him find it. He needs Denmark Tanny’s diary, something he believes is in possession by the Pogues.
Meanwhile, Limbrey and Big John are on the island looking at the plane crash. Big John tells her that he has wanted to tell his son that he's been alive, but that it would put John B at risk.
Carlos ends up killing Jimmy for messing up his only assignment- to bring him the Pogues.

- After John B, JJ, Sarah, Pope, and Cleo leave the wrong house, they're still in the clothes they were wearing on the island. When they arrive somewhere else and see a sign, they're in completely different clothes.
