Heists is the fifth episode of the third season of Outer Banks. It is the twenty-fifth episode of the series overall.
Synopsis[]
Sarah convinces an old friend to help with a high-risk, high-reward mission. Looking to access a museum collection, John B and his dad get creative.
Plot[]
John B and his dad are still on the hunt for the other half of the artifact, which is called a gnomon. They head to Charleston to find a church which might have other artifacts connected to the diary. However, when they show up, the church is no longer there. The artifacts are in a museum’s storage center so they decide to go there.
Big John asks his son to steal a keycard from a woman to get entrance into the storage area. However, John B pushes back, not feeling comfortable robbing an older woman. Instead, the two of them manage to sneak in after hours. They find the other half of the gnomon and take it. When they leave, they realize Limbrey took the Twinkie.
The pair go to see Limbrey. She tells Big John he didn’t hold up his end of the deal. He was supposed to retrieve a magical healing shroud for her. He gives her a fake one instead. She takes it and is able to walk again, believing the shroud to be real.
Back in the Outer Banks, the rest of the Pogues try to steal the cross from Ward. They need a car and convince Topper to take his dad’s truck so they can move the cross. He agrees. The cross falls out of the truck and the Pogues realize it’s a fake. Before they got there, Rafe and Barry stole it. Rafe melts down the cross for gold.

- When the Pogues try to convince Sarah to ask Topper about using his truck to get the cross, Sarah questions what John B would say, remembering what happened the last time John B saw her with Topper after the latter took her in for the night, which happened in the last season.
